The story behind the song

Tomorrow

The promise of progress, and the right to a future of your own.

Behind the track

With Tomorrow, I’m questioning how easily change gets called progress. New promises arrive, the language changes, and we’re told how far we’ve come. Yet familiar patterns keep returning. I keep wondering what actually changes in our lives, and who gets to feel the difference.

There’s also the struggle to protect a future of your own. In times of war, the freedom to live your life and decide what comes next can become something you have to defend. That tension is reflected in the cover.

That connects to the wider thread running through the song: some are carried forward, while others keep waiting for something that was meant for everyone. Even the choices we call our own can have boundaries set by someone else.

The ending leaves a small opening. Maybe what we’re waiting for is something we can help reshape. There’s doubt in that thought, but also a reason to keep asking: how long do we wait?

And remain the same?”
