The story behind the song

Crossing Lines

Finding your own direction, with fear still beside you.

In my own words

Behind the track

With Crossing Lines, I’m exploring the point where someone else’s idea of your life starts to feel too small. The map they drew may have been familiar, but the road keeps going beyond it. I like that image: there may be parts of yourself you only discover once you move past the limits someone else has set.

The fear stays close throughout the song. Even after you’ve chosen a direction, the familiar can still call you back. For me, the turning point is learning that feeling afraid doesn’t always mean you’re going the wrong way. You can feel that pull and still keep moving.

The rain, the town in the mirror and the fading signal give that decision a setting. By the final chorus, “This road is mine” has become “This life is mine.” I hear determination in that change, even with the uncertainty still there.
